More your influence , more acclaimed and trustworthy you and your tweets are . The twitter story is very inspiring. The advent and the rapid adoption of twitter , the sheer number of people on twitter , the volume of information on offer and the ease with which a person can get on twitter and start sharing are the factors that influence this stupendous growth . But to put things in perspective , just by numbers , Farmville , one application/game on Facebook is much bigger than twitter . Everyone is agog with euphoria about twitter and the recently demonstrated investor optimism about twitter is encouraging . But , is this here to stay or is twitter just a passing fad ? Is there a threshold for tweeting ?

I have been on twitter for a little more than 500 days now . I have been called many things , but the one thing that most people do not fathom is why I have so many tweets ( more than 100000 ) and why do I tweet so often . At this point I would like to disclose that I do use scheduled and feed tweets . But the mix in percentage is pretty decent and I do a lot of socializing on twitter . Too many people asked me why I tweet so much and there are some “good friends” who unfollowed me for that . Why I will never use any location service

As the social media bubble gets bigger and bigger and the pie looks tastier and juicier , there is a gamut of new applications and extrapolations that are flooding this space . One major subset of them are the location tagging services . These vary from a person tweeting or updating facebook about where he/she is manually to their phones automatically telling their entire social network where they are . I have even seen a service that tweets when a person makes love and tells us where the act happened ! That is an extreme aberration but all of us have these location tags filling our feeds and timelines now . I for one will NEVER use a location service on any social media platform . Why ?
