Managing Emails by destination

I have 4 domains that I administer and each one of them comes with an admin overhead of managing the associated emails .Since they are my own ids and I do not have anyone imposing limits on anything , I tend to kinda freak out with the emails . So whenever I see a site or a good source of info , I jump at it and try and subscribe via email . When I see a good social media platform I subscribe and they want my email . So at the rate at which I browse , that is a lot of sites and a lot of emails . I am sure that many of you share my predicament . So here is how I manage my emails

First up , all my domains use Google Apps for email , spreadsheets and the dos . This means that as long as gmail is up and delivering , I have reliable email . Next is the way you set up the email for your domain . The most important thing to do is set up a valid id as the “catch all mail address for any mail that comes in to your domain and does not have a valid id to route it to . If you set that up correctly , you can achieve a lot of ease and comfort . Let me explain below

If I setup the catch all id as me@mydomain.com what happens is that whenever there is mail coming in to some-id@mydomain.com and some-id is not a valid user with a mailbox , it gets delivered to me@mydomain.com . All this happens without the sender knowing a thing . So how is this useful , here is one example . Let us say that I am signing in to a new site called greatplatform.com and they want my mail id , I enter greatplatform@mydomain.com and like all responsible sites , they will send an activation link to the id , now at the back-end , my mail server sees that the id does not exist and routes it to the catch all entry . This means that the mail comes to me@mydomain.com .I just open the activation link and I am done !

This way my email filters are sorted by destination , so a mail to thissite@domain.com means that it comes from thissite.com and goes into a designated folder for that purpose and stays there . Sorting emails is really simple and in the future if I decide that any platform deserves better attention then I just create that id on the server and vola , a new user on my mail server . Like it ?
