ChromAndroid and MicroBing

Well , Acer has announced a Android based dual boot netbook and as usual the netizens are hailing a new beginning . Google all set to trump Microsoft and take guard for the next generation ? Hmm , a nice fantastic line of thought , but I beg to disagree . First things first and the problem with the Acer news is that Google needs to first sort out whether it wants to pitch Chrome or Android as the next OS for everyone . The longer that they take to sort that out in their heads , more confused the market is gonna get . So all the very best to them to get to that .And now to get to the point of this post

What are Microsoft and Google doing ? Well , if you go by their sizes , nothing significant ! Yeah I mean it ! What is the primary winner for Microsoft ? Windows and Office . Those are the mainstays of their revenue and legendary profitability . All the other products basically don’t scratch a thing . In fact some of them make losses too ! And what about Google ? Well they primarily make money by sticking ads into people’s search results that are relevant to what they are searching . Whenever a user clicks , Google makes money . The size of money made here is so huge that Google can afford just about anything .

So what is the deal ? Microsoft brings on Bing and tries to clean up MSN search and make it better . Good , and yes , they have thrown in a lot of bells and whistles with it . But are they seriously hoping to dent Google’s cut in the search space ? Duh ! People call searching by the name of Googling now ! If i can see that then Gates and Windows have already seen that ! What is Google trying ? Come up with Chrome and kill Windows ? Tada ! I don’t think so , I mean if something free and totally solid and sturdy like Ubuntu can’t dent Windows , what makes you think anything else can ?

These two companies are the current leviathan class ships navigating the software galaxy . But let us look into the past , how did the meteoric rise to M$ begin ? From nowhere ! Exactly ! They inked a deal with IBM for DOS on PCs and the rest is history ,but when they turned away from IBM , the scene got so polarized that IBM is now out of the PC business altogether . So I really think that Google is not it , someone else is gonna come from somewhere .Till then ChromAndroid and MicroBing are gonna keep the twitterverse tingling and bustling !!
